Gracie grew up in Dahlonega, Georgia, and is a graduate of Appalachian State University. She has volunteered with Young Life Ministry as a small group leader is also actively involved with a local church in Boone, North Carolina.
Gracie grew up going to camp every summer. Her first time in Alaska was six years ago as a camper! She later took the role as a camp counselor for Glisson Camp and Retreat Center and spent a summer leading a leadership day camp program for teens. Gracie also held a Team Leader position for Glisson and facilitated training with backpacking, kayaking, and climbing trips.
She has camped and hiked her way through the Tetons, Arches, Zion, Rockies, Denali and the Rocky Mountain National Park! Gracie shared that she, “loves sharing outdoor experiences with others!” She added that she “loves to travel and had a great experience in high school going on the Alaska Expedition.” She wants to “help provide a space for high school students to share and talk about their relationship with Jesus and believes the combination of the outdoors and small group discussion can be very powerful.”
Gracie loves to spend her free time outside either hiking, camping, skiing, or playing sports. She also loves to read, cook, and spend time in the community with her friends.
