Where will we stay?
Our group will stay in two private base camps.
Waimea Canyon Basecamp: The first portion of the trip we will stay in a beautiful, rustic, private camp in the mountains of the Waimea Canyon.
We will use this as our basecamp to go on hikes through the canyon as well as explore the south shores of Kauai by boat.
You will sleep in bunkbeds and enjoy the cooler, mountain temperatures in the evening. This camp has its own dining hall for our private use, including a game room and outdoor fire pit.
Napali Coast Basecamp: We will spend our last few nights at a private camp located directly on the Napali Coast.
We will use this as our basecamp to surf, snorkel and hike the Napali Coast
You will sleep in bunkbeds and have beach access just steps from your cabin. This camp has its own beach and dining hall for our private use.
What is the weather like?
The average daily summer temperature in Kauai, Hawaii is around 80 degrees. The mountain temperatures can be significantly cooler with lows in the mid 50s and highs in the 70s. The island has a lush, green, tropical landscape which means occasional rain. Don’t worry you will get plenty of sunshine and rainbows to enjoy on your adventure too!
What is a typical day like?
Each morning we wake with breakfast and campers will begin their day with a morning devotional. Campers rotate as a group each day to cook meals. Our group will set off for our adventure activity of the day (see adventure highlights overview) and will visit different beaches most afternoons. In the evenings we will enjoy dinner at camp, and will share great conversations during our small group time.
Waimea Canyon Basecamp: We begin our adventure in the mountains of the Waimea Canyon and will enjoy several hikes into the canyon and the Napali mountains to explore rivers, waterfalls and take in breathtaking views. Campers will experience a thrilling catarman tour along the Napali coast to snorkel in search for sea life.
Napali Coast Basecamp: Our group will take two expert-led surf lessons on the North Shore and snorkel and hike the beautiful, Napali coast! Campers will have service opportunities at a tropical, botanical garden and other non-profits that directly support the community.
