Will I have to carry all my gear on my back for two weeks?
No. We operate out of several basecamps throughout the Pacific Northwest. The team takes day trips including rock climbing, sea kayaking, hiking and more. The location of these basecamps allows access to some of the most beautiful places in the Pacific Northwest. Our group will be tent camping in established group campsites.
What is the weather like?
The average summer temperatures in Washington are 70-85 degrees with cooler mornings and evenings around 45-55 degrees with low humidity.
What is a typical day like?
Each morning we wake with coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast! Mornings begin with a daily devotional and then campers get ready for our next adventure activity of the day. Students rotate as a group each day to plan and perform needed tasks such as cooking, navigating, gear cleaning and more. Daily team meetings help us prepare for the next great adventure. There are days scheduled for washing clothes and taking showers. Each evening we are around a fire, next to the Puget Sound or by a river to share great conversations during our small group time.
Puget Sound Basecamp: Upon arriving in Seattle, you’ll go directly to our Puget Sound Basecamp. After a good night's sleep, you'll have a chance to get to know your new friends and trip leaders during orientation and then set off on your great adventure together.
Mount Rainier Basecamp: Learn technical camp & cooking skills, go rock climbing, visit waterfalls and go on hikes through the Mount Rainier National Park.
North Cascades Basecamp: Explore the beauty of the North Cascades National park's lakes, waterfalls and mountains.
San Juan Island Basecamp: Take a ferry to San Juan Island to our basecamp, where you'll meet your kayak guides who will help you prepare for your overnight kayaking adventure.
Jones Island Basecamp: Paddle the pristine waters of the San Juan Islands with expert-led instructors to Jones Island State Park. Our group will kayak in search of sea life and explore the island during this 2 night camping trip.
San Juan Island Basecamp: Explore Friday Harbor and around San Juan Island
Puget Sound Basecamp: Take a ferry back to the mainland and make your way back to our Puget Sound Basecamp as our journey together comes to a close!
